Self-Paced Courses are accessed through our learning management system. The students are guided by clear weekly schedules, instructional videos, and automated assessments. Courses are written to be completed in one academic year, but students set their own pace. No grading is provided, but answer keys are available for most courses. Access is for one calendar year.

Course Description: This course continues the study of the history of Europe from the religious wars after the Protestant Reformation up to contemporary times, focusing upon the political, social, and cultural developments of the West. The primary textbook is Light to the Nations, The History of Christian Civilization, Part 2.

This course may be taken as a stand alone, but is crafted to integrate with Great Books 3: Modern Times.

Age Range: 10th grade

Required Tech: Computer and internet connection capable of video playback.

Components: Reading, Agenda, Video Lecture, Study Guide w/ "Know the Narrative" Activity, and Automated Quiz. There are three exams per year.
